My Thoughts on Extra Curricular Activities

  Last night was the last soccer game of Alex’s first foray into team sports.  I debated with myself for months on whether or not we should even attempt any extra curricular activities during our first year of homeschooling.  I am not one to pack our schedule with outings, and I definitely wanted to heed the warnings of seasoned homeschoolers who have advised against trying to do too much.  In the end, we decided that some exercise and a chance at ‘socialization’ would be a good thing.  Now that it is over, here is my complete analysis. The stats: Cost – $55 registration, $3 snacks, and $30 equipment  Total: $91 Length of Season – 2 days per week for 2 months (September and October) Time Commitment – Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-7:15PM Pros: Alex had a great time.
