In addition to the Letter of the Week Curriculum, I am going to keep doing sensory bins and tot trays for Ryan.  One of the big skills to begin working on is connecting numbers with objects.  With tot trays, I want to combine counting and fine motor skills.  Here is a look at his first try with chopsticks and pompoms.

I thought he did pretty well given that Alex was distracting him.  He had no problem manipulating the chopsticks, so I tried it with smaller pompoms.

Transfer Pompoms Medium

These were more challenging, but still not much.  So, I tried even smaller ones.

Transfer Pompoms Small

He had to chase these across the room a few times as they kept jumping out of the chopsticks.  Alex did this activity, too.  Not really a challenge for him at all, but he had fun.

One more preschool preview remaining, and then we are all set for real school!  I think Ryan is excited.  Every time I fire up the printer he asks if it is an activity for him.  He is quite disappointed when I tell him it is only a coupon.

This post is linked up to Preschool Corner at Homeschool Creations and Tot School at 1+1+1=1.  Ryan is currently 34 months old.
